This will give us an initial impression of existing practices in your laboratories, as many laboratories are already implementing some key Green Lab measures. We are actively working to reduce energy consumption in all our experiments and processes and regularly collect ideas for improvement in our team meetings. The feasibility of increasing the freezer temperature from -80°C to -70°C and from -20°C to -18°C for the working group's laboratory was examined. The temperature was increased in all freezers. The temperature was increased in some freezers. The temperature was not yet increased. Devices such as centrifuges, heating plates, PCR devices, autoclaves, etc. are always switched to stand-by mode or switched off. Devices are labelled with a “Switch off” sticker. We carry out regular checks in the refrigerators and freezers to remove expired or superfluous samples. Hazardous and non-hazardous waste is properly separated. The containers and labels prescribed at TUD are used for labeling hazardous waste. A chemical register is kept and entries and disposals of chemicals are recorded. Before a new chemical is procured, it is checked whether it is still available in the lab. Before new research equipment is procured, a check is carried out to determine whether these requirements can be covered by existing infrastructures at the TUD. New infrastructure is made available to everyone for shared use via the Dresden Technology Portal. The work group implements measures for miniaturization in processes and procedures in research projects and in teaching, where possible. Environmental and sustainability topics are regularly addressed in work group meetings. Other / comments Privacy policy Please read our privacy/consent statement.
