- 15.06.2026, 10 - 10.45 a.m.: "What does the climate crisis have to do with me?" (Julian Weilbacher - Health4Future)
- 16.06.2026, 10 - 10.45 a.m.: "Who is causing the climate crisis, and who is suffering from it?" (Nada Hazem, Climate Stories)
- 17.06.2026, 10 - 10.45 a.m.: "What does a climate-friendly future look like? What kind of world do we want to live in?" (Futurium)
- 18.06.2026, 10 - 10.45 a.m.: "What can I do myself and why do I need others?"
- 19.06.2026, 10 - 10.45 a.m.: "How can we change things together?" (Wandelwerk e.V.)

With the Cleema app, all university members have the opportunity to take part in a sustainability challenge for TU Dresden from 25.05.2026. Every day until the end of the Sustainability Week on 19.06.2026, points can be collected here for your own sustainable actions at the university, because every action counts: from the climate plate in the canteen, to cycling instead of driving, attending (further) educational events in the field of sustainability or attending the Sustainability Week. Become active yourself with the TU Dresden Challenge.
You can download the Cleema app from the following website: https: //www.cleema.app/. Under Challenges at the bottom of the screen, you will find the TU Dresden Challenge from 11.05.26.
The Cleema App project was launched in 2022 by a cross-company team from Saxony and supported and funded by the state capital Dresden as part of the Smart Cities model project of the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building and the project sponsor Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW). In 2024, Lokale Agenda für Dresden e.V. and Sandstorm took over the baton. The project is accompanied and supported by the state capital of Dresden, and we also work closely with other Dresden institutions and non-profit organizations.
The FSR ASB organizes a Pride Week every year in order to create spaces for an examination of patterns of social oppression. In terms of content, events often focus on educational contexts: What role do educators (and the institutions in which they may work) play and what role should they play?

The Week is a group experience that opens up spaces for courageous conversations about the climate emergency and mobilizes people to take transformative action. The Week takes people on an emotional 'U'-shaped journey that ends with a conscious decision and concrete next steps in sustainable living and design. This is how The Week works: Within one week (hence "The Week"), groups meet three times, watch a documentary film each time and then exchange ideas. The Week @Campus is a special version for universities.
Episode 1: Mon, 15.06.26, 16-17:30

Scientific research aims to deliver results that are as sound as possible in order to develop generalizable knowledge for informed decisions and applications. Using the example of our SustainING project, which aims to take equal account of social, ecological and economic aspects in technology research, we will focus on the dimension of social sustainability. Based on our own social influences, we are becoming aware of the social influences and consequences and their effectiveness using the example of technical research and development processes, and are asking whose knowledge actually finds its way into (technical) research and what results from this for subsequent application and use.

Sustainability also includes the sustainability of human relationships, so here is a taster course in NVC: From home and our environment, we have learned a certain way of dealing with other opinions: Withdraw, blurt out, attack is the best oath or seek compromise etc.... NVC takes a different approach. With NVC we can learn to pay attention to what is really important to us / what we can stand by. On the other hand, we can also learn to find out what is important to our counterpart, even if he/she expresses him/herself in a completely different way. ("I hear something you don't say"). NVC requires courage. It is a way of life rather than just a communication method. And certainly not a soft-spoken one. In two separate sessions of 1.5 hours each, we will hear a little background on NVC and then practise seeing the world differently and reacting to it differently. Because: "Not environment, not heredity, but personal response is the ultimate determining factor in our lives. And here lies our responsibility!" - Martin Luther King Registration: https: //tu-dresden.de/tu-dresden/nachhaltigkeit/mitmachen/veranstaltungen/nachhaltigkeitswoche/anmeldung-nachhaltigkeitswoche |

"Marianne and I could also do it together. You just sit there and say nothing and play around with the pen. If you have an idea, just say it. No matter how silly it is. Sometimes these silly ideas can be really good!"
In the context of education for sustainable development, this statement by a child refers to more than just the motivation to participate. The girl seems to have understood that she does not need predetermined answers from the teacher, but that free and open-ended thinking is important - even if ideas initially seem "silly".
So far, simulation games are rarely found in everyday primary school life, as they are often considered too complex for primary schools. At the same time, they offer a wide range of opportunities to promote subject-specific and interdisciplinary skills, for example in the areas of teamwork, perspective-taking and self-determined learning.
In the simulation game of the dissertation project, children work in groups to deal with open-ended situations on the topic of forests. The discussions within the groups are particularly important as they can make children's patterns of thought and imagination visible. Children are taken seriously as active stakeholders in education for sustainable development and involved in child-friendly decision-making processes.
The game is part of a learning setting that was developed as part of the dissertation project "Child and forest. Pupils' perceptions of forests in the context of education for sustainable development".
As part of this offer, you can try out the simulation game yourself and reflect on your own ideas about the forest.

While electronic semiconductor components only have an average production time of just over 4 years, there are industrial products and consumer goods with a useful life of decades. The question now arises as to how the functionality of consumer goods and industrial equipment can be guaranteed for years or decades if essential components of electronic products become obsolete after a few years.
The lecture explains the causes of the short service life of semiconductor components and outlines measures that effectively guarantee the long-term availability of electronic products.

The 2025 Pride season in Saxony was once again characterized by widespread anti-pride mobilizations: At least 12 of the 17 events saw right-wing counter-assemblies or attempts at disruption. The study provides initial insights into this changed reality and its impact on Pride participants. The results show that the perception of right-wing counter-mobilizations has unfortunately become an integral part of CSDs and Prides in Saxony. Despite the tense security situation and the numerous experiences of violence, however, it is also clear that Prides continue to represent a central moment of empowerment. The interactive study presentation illustrates these findings using images and quotes from the 2025 Pride season.

When you buy a laptop today, it only lasts 5 to 10 years. After that it is too slow, programs can no longer be installed or there are no more updates.
This is neither sustainable nor necessary. There are operating systems that are also developed further for devices that are very old. This means that even devices that are more than 20 years old can be used sensibly and safely again. In addition, you are no longer dependent on software companies that enforce questionable data protection settings or update methods. Many of these systems are maintained on a voluntary or charitable basis and are always open and free of charge.
At the Install Party, you can learn what Linux is and how to use it in a beginner-friendly way. You can install a Linux system on your computer together with experienced users and of course always ask questions. It is also possible to install a Linux system alongside Windows so that you can use both systems.
If possible, please back up the data previously stored on the computer on a separate hard disk beforehand.

The module includes climate changes and their interaction with atmospheric trace matters and vegetation. Global change makes demands to all natural resources (soil, water, air), where e.g. the water supply and its use are dependent on natural and economical requirements. Climate change is exemplarily shown to explain the use of limited resources in the light of a changing world. Its understanding requires knowledge about the earth-atmosphere system. The module focuses on the state of the art of climate research (data, methods and results) including the feedback with the hydrosphere and biosphere. The evolution of the paleoclimate and the recent climate change are used to illustrate the different climate parameters. The presentations of the students complete the program. Students improve their knowledge about system understanding of climate change by integrative treatment of climatic processes. They are able to explain complex relationships and develop a reliable conflict understanding of questions relevant to natural resources in connection with climate.

Film & subsequent discussion with the protagonist & polymer researcher Prof. Dr. Sebastian Seiffert
Science should be objective: Facts instead of feelings. But a new generation of scientists is experiencing how their research is being derailed by climate change.
Instead of discovering the wonders of nature, Maria, a doctor of glaciology, Sebastian, Chair of Physical Chemistry, and Nana, a molecular biologist, are chroniclers of a world in decline. But no one listens to them. What should they do? Instead of retreating into the ivory tower of their research in frustration, Maria, Sebastian and Nana leave the lab and become activists, carrying the weight of the world on their shoulders.
THE WEIGHT OF THE WORLD is more than a climate documentary - it is a deeply human portrait of three scientists who realize that their research alone is no longer enough. In times of increasing climate catastrophes, political paralysis and social division, the film offers an emotional approach to one of the central questions of our time: What does it mean to take responsibility?

From Carlowitz to the present day: Saxony has been shaping the concept of sustainability for over 300 years. The lecture shows how innovative processes such as HUMASAT recover valuable resources from sewage sludge, close material cycles and sustainably protect the climate and soil.
The concept of sustainability as a Saxon invention and the basis of Saxon innovations: from Carlowitz to HUMASAT
Sustainability was invented over 300 years ago by a Saxon chief mining administrator. Originating from forestry, today it is understood to mean using natural resources in such a way that future generations can also live well - an equal implementation of environmental, economic and social goals.
Since 2020, a new type of thermal process for refining municipal sewage sludge directly on site has been in continuous operation at the Frohnbach wastewater treatment plant. This allows the "waste" that is currently being targeted due to various pollutants to be converted into an environmentally friendly, sustainable and yield-enhancing aid for soil-related applications. Vital phosphorus, plant nutrients, trace elements and valuable minerals are no longer lost and are returned to the natural cycle, for example as a composting additive. The product is much more than just a P fertilizer and a potential replacement for mineral fertilizers rich in heavy metals from phosphate ores that have to be imported. It also counteracts soil acidification, stores water and inhibits the leaching of applied nutrients. In addition, coal promotes humus formation and helps to reduce soil erosion. It is stable in the soil over the long term and remains there for centuries. Around 60 percent of the organic carbon in sewage sludge can therefore be bound in the long term in a climate-friendly manner. This results in closed material cycles and eliminates the need for transportation. All this leads to an exemplary ecological footprint.
