Recording of DAAD Climate Lecture Series with Johan Rockström from 18.12.2023 - available now
The recording of the lecture "A safe and just future for humanity on earth", which Professor Johan Rockström, Director of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, gave as part of the DAAD Climate Lecture Series on 18 December 2023, can now be viewed on the DAAD YouTube channel.
Professor Rockström is the originator of the concept of "Planetary Boundaries", which describes the state of the earth's health using various categories relating to the ecosystem and the environment. The scientists suspect that exceeding the defined limits will jeopardise the earth's ecosystem and thus the basis of human life. The concept of "planetary boundaries" provides a theoretical basis for the environmental framework conditions for the sustainable development of our society.
The Global Water and Climate Adaptation Centre (ABCD-Centre) is run by the TU Dresden and is one of the Global Environment and Climate Centres funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD).
