CITY CYCLING 2026: Join the TUD team now!
From September 7 to 27, 2026, Dresden is hosting the campaign “STADTRADELN – Cycling for a Better Climate”. Already for the 16th time all Dresden residents are invited to make as many climate-friendly trips by bike as possible and to collect kilometers for their team, the City of Dresden, and for the promotion of cycling.
TUD is again participating with an own team. University members can register for the “TU Dresden” team at stadtradeln.de/dresden. As in previous years, groups of participants can also form sub-teams of the TU Dresden team.
Collect kilometers by bike—and support research
The STADTRADELN app makes it easy to track the distances traveled using GPS. This data will help to better understand cycling in Dresden and other cities and further develop cycling infrastructure. For example, it reveals which routes are used most frequently, where cyclists ride slower or faster, and at which traffic lights long waiting times occur.
If you do not want to use the STADTRADELN app, you can enter the kilometers you’ve ridden manually via the website. However, this data cannot be used for analysis aimed at optimizing cycling infrastructure.
Together for more cycling
The Germany-wide STADTRADELN competition is an initiative of the Climate Alliance, of which the City of Dresden is a member. The goal is to contribute to climate protection, set an example for increased cycling, promote health through more physical activity, and inspire as many people as possible to take up cycling.
Sign up now, join the ride, and collect kilometers for TUD!
