Umundu Festival 2021 "Climate of Change"
From 24 September to 2 October 2021, the Umundu-Festival will take place in Dresden. The festival will again cover a broad range of environmental and sustainability topics. In addition to lectures, discussions, film and theatre performances, exhibition tours, games and workshops, there are also hikes and bike trips.
Some of the activities are organized by the TU environmental initiative (tuuwi), such as the film evening with a panel discussion about the film “2040 - We save the world” (in German). The screening starts at 7:30 p.m. (end: approx. 10:00 p.m.) at Zentralkino (Kraftwerk Mitte). The entry is donation-based.
Furthermore, a guided tour will take place on campus. The “Green Campus Tour - Discover green corners and critically question building projects” is planned for Friday, 1 October 2021. Start is at 4:00 p.m. in front of the Hörsaalzentrum at the Bergstrasse exit (duration: approx. 1 hour). On this tour a guide will explain how to get involved in climate policy on campus and how to rediscover the surrounding area. The tour will take you past wildflower meadows, insect hotels, the tuuwi-garden and other places of edible urban greenery.
The tuuwi also organizes a workshop on the topic “Eat what?! What animals, meat and me have to do with climate change”. Here participants get to know the connection between meat consumption and climate change. This workshop will take place on Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the tuuwi-garden. Admission is free. Please register in advance by email to:
