Future workshop Climate protection
This photo with a long exposure time shows the glow of the Earth's atmosphere against the background of a starry sky. It was taken from the International Space Station on January 21, 2024. Since the space station was launched in November 2000, the crew members have taken hundreds of thousands of images. Their photos of Earth document how the planet changes over time due to human activity and natural events.
Saving the world in just three hours
... unfortunately that won't work. But we can look at and discuss possible paths in the right direction together.
This future workshop is about the climate protection concept that is being drawn up as part of our university's sustainability strategy. The goal is ambitious:
We want to achieve greenhouse gas neutrality.
In order to provide information on the current status and to involve the university community, the project team invites you to the Future Workshop on January 12, 2026, from 1 to 4 p.m. in the Rectorate Ballroom of the University. The event offers space for exchange, discussion and co-design. We will shed light on the topics of energy, mobility, research and teaching, sufficiency and resilience.
You can expect
- An overview of the status of climate protection measures within the sustainability strategy.
- Insights into the greenhouse gas emissions caused by the TUD and the possibilities of influencing them.
- Discussion rounds in which you can contribute ideas, concerns and needs from your experiences and visions.
- Concrete next steps that show what joint action can look like.
University members of all status groups are cordially invited to actively participate in the development of the climate protection concept and to advance the implementation of TU Dresden's sustainability goals.
