Support the best
The "Support the best" measure provided individually tailored support to TUD scientists particularly active in research, regardless of their qualification level.
Scientists throughout the university were invited to apply for funds. Following three rounds of applications in 2013 and 2014, the allocation of funding has now been concluded until further notice.
A total of 75 project proposals were submitted, 60 by individual researchers, 15 by research groups. With a total volume of approx. 10 million Euro, 42 projects throughout the five TUD Schools have been selected for funding.
Funding from this source could be used flexibly for the most varied of projects.
The focus was on
- measures to relief the work burden in order to gain time for in-depth studies (e.g. funding interim personnel during sabbaticals)
- open up prospects for outstanding junior scientists
- establish new competence networks or main research areas as incubators for, mostly interdisciplinary, joint research projects
- transfer basic research into broad, multi-purpose applicability
TU Dresden's Institutional Strategy was funded by the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal and State Governments.
