Invitation to the Future Lab "Digitalization" on June 14, 2021
University Executive Board Circular Mail of June 2, 2021
Dear members of TU Dresden,
on behalf of the Extended University Executive Board, we cordially invite you to participate in exciting discussions in a total of seven thematic circles during the Future Lab
“How do we want to shape and use the digital transformation in teaching, research and administration?”
Monday, June 14, 2021
1 pm - 5 pm
In the first part of the event, we would like to focus on what has already been achieved. We will present the extent to which the results of the Future Labs 2018 have already been implemented in the areas of digitization and IT. Subsequently, we will turn our attention to the developments that we are aiming for in the coming years. The Chief Officer Digitalization and Information Management, Prof. Bernard, will then present the key elements of his department’s strategy.
This strategy will be elaborated in the main part of the event. We would like to hear your opinion on how the curricula could be designed such that our students are able to gain comprehensive digital expertise during their studies. This, in turn, should prepare them in the best possible way for research and the professional world. The Future Lab will also focus on ways to promote the digital expertise of our employees as well as the design of a digital administration. In research, we would like to explore with you how digitization can ensure optimal support for our day-to-day work. We are also interested to learn which components you expect of a user-oriented and functional intranet. Finally, we will critically discuss what digital sovereignty means to us and how we can deal with its flipside – the potential dangers that digitization can bring.
The registration form and detailed information on the program can be found at:

The results of the Future Lab will be incorporated into the strategy development and implementation of the Extended University Executive Board. In the fall of this year, you can familiarize yourself with the ideas and suggestions that are in the process of being implemented.
We look forward to a lively discussion with you!
Best regards,
Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger
