EDITORIAL NOTES
The main purpose of the newsletter is to report on activities regarding the Excellence (EXU) competition at TUD.
These are, for example, updates on EXU events, developments or news from EXU measures, research reports and news from the three Clusters of Excellence (CeTI, ct.qmat, PoL), additional news on topics related to the Excellence initiative, possibly articles from the research clusters (CMCB, cfaed).
The selection of topics and the final editing are carried out by the editorial team with no need for further consultation with the submitters.
Contributions to the newsletter should generally be submitted two weeks prior to the planned publication date (info per email). Provided that the texts are available in German and English, news can also be added at short notice to keep the newsletter fully up to date.

We request contributions in the form of a short teaser (about 500 - 600 characters including spaces), if available in German and English. The heading should also be short and catchy (about 60 characters, two lines max.)
These short texts should pique readers' curiosity so that they then click on the “more” button to access more detailed information (own news, press information, website, etc.).
The newsletter is published in both German and English. If texts are available in German only, they will be translated into American English by an external agency. The Translation Office then carries out a final quality check.
In a newsletter layout, images can help provide structure and illustrate the respective topic. For each image (with the exception of logos), we require an image caption, copyright information and an alternative text for accessibility. Format: Landscape Maximum file size: 10 MB.
Please use gender-neutral language (e.g. singular "they," spokesperson). Abbreviations need to be explained, as do any specialist terms. If possible, teaser texts should be understandable to a general audience and prompt further reading.
Additional tips for creating newsletters can be found on the Editorial tips page in the internal web area.
The newsletter is an essential component of our Excellence communication. It is of interest both for the general public as well as TUD members. About 3/4 of our subscribers are associate members of TUD and 1/4 are external parties.
Yes, it is possible to collect anonymous evaluations with our new newsletter tool. These include, for example, opening rates and click rates, but also how often a particular link in the newsletter was clicked on.
You can subscribe to the newsletter vis the following link: https://tu-dresden.de/tu-dresden/profil/exzellenz/newsletter. The new subscribe then needs to confirm the email sent to them (double opt-in).
Click on the “Unsubscribe from newsletter” link at the end of the newsletter and confirm.
