100 years Bauhaus – Chemnitz, city of modernity
Probably no other city meets the term "city of modernity" as Chemnitz. On Sunday, November 17, 2019, we will take a day trip to the Saxon neighbor city and discover two great examples of the Modern architecture in the year of the 100th Bauhaus anniversary. First, we visit the department store Schocken, built by the architect Erich Mendelson, once part of one of the most successful department store chain in Germany with an eventful and tragic history. Today, it is home of the Saxon State Museum of Archeology (smac). Afterwards we take you to take a dip in the Chemnitz public baths - in its time of origin one of the largest and most modern indoor swimming pools in Europe.
Fee: 9 Euros
Included in the Price: guided tour department store Schocken (smac), admission public swimming pool, lunch
