The TUD, in cooperation with *sowieso e.V.*, Frauenstadtarchiv e.V. and the "Städtische Bibliotheken Dresden" , invites you to the official opening of the travelling exhibition „Gemeinsam sind wir unerträglich – Die unabhängige Frauenbewegung in der DDR“.

The exhibition commemorates the courageous women who organised and campaigned independently in the GDR during the 1980s, fighting for peace and human rights and speaking out against discrimination and the pervasive silence surrounding the role of women and lesbians within the system. Despite state surveillance and repression, these women developed alternative lifestyles and fought tirelessly for social change.

To launch the exhibition, guests from academia and activism will discuss the independent women's movement in the GDR, exploring its significance at the time and its continued relevance.
