Explanations to the list of alumni
The list of three columns is alphabetized.
In the first column stand the last name and the first name, in this order and with out a comma. If there is more than one first name the underlined is the reported first name.
In the second column stand the year x when the oral exam and the doctorate take place. The year specification x/y appears when the oral exam was in year x and the doctorate in the year y.
In the third column appear the shortcuts for the sections or – since 1941 – the faculties in which the doctorate takes place.
In detail:
- B - section of engineering
- C - chemical section
- M - mechanic section
- H - building construction
- Th - section for Forestall Academy Tharandt
- MN - mathematic-natural scientific section
- K - cultural-scientific section
MN and K were used consistently between 1912 and 1941, although the names of the sections were different in this time.
- BA - BA – These doctorates were carried out together from the technical academy of Dresden and the mining academy of Freiberg before Freiberg got the own right to doctorate.
- FM - faculty for mechanical engineering (includes M)
- FB - faculty for construction engineering (includes B and H)
- FA - faculty for general sciences (includes MN, C and K)
- FF - faculty for science of forestry
A further specification occurred casual. MN (mathematic) marked a mathematical dissertation, MN (chemistry) a chemical food dissertation, and M (K) on in the mechanical section defended dissertation with a strong cultural-scientific content.
It is possible that some alumni are missing in the available list. A further completion of the data base is aimed during the running development of the documents by the personnel of the archive. Secured hints on more alumni of the technical academy of Dresden in the period from 1900 to 1945 are accepted with good grace.
