The archive as a time capsule of university history: "At work with..." Judith Matzke
"Archives have thousands of stories to tell," says Judith Matzke, director of the TU Dresden University Archives. Under her leadership, records from 200 years of research, administration and teaching are expertly preserved for future generations. In the new episode "At work with..." she provides insights into valuable unique items - including building plans from the post-war period and the student file of the first female student at the TH Dresden.
The range of topics is as broad as the research areas at the university. Archivists are involved in preservation and must also decide which documents can be destroyed and which are of lasting value and should be kept. How did Judith Matzke come to her profession? And what challenges does the archive face in the wake of digitization? She reveals this in the new video of the "TU Dresden entdecken" channel.
In the video series "At work with ..." the social media team of TU Dresden accompanies employees of TU Dresden or its partner institutions for one day. The videos provide an insight into the diverse work and tasks at TU Dresden and show: Behind everything that distinguishes us are people who do their job with passion and dedication! More videos can be found on the YouTube channels "TU Dresden entdecken" and "TU Dresden probieren".
