Research lab
What is the experimental lab?
The experimental lab is part of the Teaching Synergies Program (TSP). It is an interactive room where scientists from DRESDEN-concept research institutions and lecturers of TU Dresden can receive advice and support in the creation and implementation of digital learning materials. Both the physical space in the Günther-Landgraf Building and the digital 3D twin invite experimentation and trial and error in order to gain (further) qualifications in media didactics and to design various approaches to research-oriented teaching in a didactically valuable and student-oriented manner.
What technical equipment can you find in the experimental laboratory?
- 95-inch lightboard
- Various video editing software
- Authoring tool for integrating teaching and learning materials into OPAL
- (Wireless) Microphones
- Wireless headsets
-
360degree Camera
-
Document camera
Our highlight: the lightboard
In the experimental lab, a lightboard is available, among other things. This can be used to produce and record interactive learning videos. In lightboard videos, there is a transparent screen between the person speaking and the camera. This can be used to write, develop formulas, and create drawings during the presentations. The Lightboard's intelligent software rotates it so that the writing can be read normally from the camera's perspective. In addition, further content (text, illustrations, photos, films) can be added to the board afterwards, so that it merges with the existing material. The use of lightboard videos is particularly suitable for teaching contexts in which the step-by-step development of concepts and contexts is important for understanding and these are to be represented with a board image.
