Science and exchange: Review of the FOSTER networking meeting

On May 16, 2024, our long-awaited networking meeting for all FOSTER grantees took place. Despite weather-related challenges, we were able to hold the event as planned - and it was a complete success!

One highlight of the afternoon was the science slam by Johannes Strohhäcker, who reported on the electrification of the rail network and his doctoral thesis. He used this format - a special form of science communication - to make his research interesting and understandable. Equally impressive was the "Meadow of Opportunities" in the inner courtyard of the Fritz Förster Building. Picnic blankets and deckchairs, accompanied by tasty snacks, invited visitors to linger and network.

We also welcomed some interesting guests who represented the diversity of TU Dresden. Among them were representatives from the SLUB, the International Office (GCC and EUTOPIA) and the Writing Center. The guests also had the opportunity to contribute creatively to our public relations work.

Finally, we would like to thank everyone who presented offers for students, took part in our networking meeting and spent the afternoon with us.
