Activating Teaching Methods: Experience, Reflect, Apply
How can you start a lecture series in a way that immediately engages students? Which methods help students work actively with content rather than just receive it? And how can you quickly check what has actually “landed” with learners? In this hands-on workshop, participants will experience a wide range of activating teaching methods by trying them out themselves. Instead of talking about methods in the abstract, we will work with them directly: from opening a first class session, to structuring content-rich teaching phases, to using simple feedback tools that reveal what students have understood. The workshop is designed for teachers from different disciplines and addresses both small seminar groups and large lecture settings. Participants will explore a method reader, exchange ideas with peers, and identify techniques they can adapt to their own teaching right away. This workshop is highly interactive, practice-oriented, and focused on transfer: participants leave not only with new methods, but with concrete ideas for how to use them in their own courses.
