StuFoExpo 2018 review 

The first exhibition of the 2018 Student Research Expo took place at TU Dresden on July 4, 2018. The event hosted about 40 participants from 22 different subjects who all presented their research projects to over 100 visitors to the Auditorium Center.

The event began with a keynote address by Dr. Gerd Teepe, Director of Marketing for Europe at Global Foundries, titled “The Impact of Semiconductors on Society – Next Chapter: Artificial Intelligence.” Then, the first twenty participants had the opportunity to pitch their projects in just 90 seconds. The remaining projects were pitched in the second session following a brief coffee break.

This was followed by an hour-long poster session, where visitors had the chance to speak at greater length with the individual participants. The event concluded with awards for the best projects – three jury prizes and one audience prize, each endowed with 100 euros.
