Mentoring program of the ZIS
At the suggestion of our alumni, a mentoring program for IB students was set up at the Center for International Studies at TU Dresden, which has been running very successfully since 2012 with the participation of 20 to 40 mentees and over 150 mentors every year. The idea is that current students are each assigned an alumna or alumnus of the degree program as a mentor to provide advice and support on all future questions relating to their studies, internships, possible Master's or postgraduate courses and future employers. As part of the mentoring program, many students have already been put in contact with mentors from a wide range of years and professional and practical orientation.
→ Are you studying IB and interested in getting in touch with IB alumni?
Then you will find a link to a regularly updated list of mentors here. You will need a password for access, which will be shared when the call for participation in the program is sent out and can otherwise also be requested from the ZIS. The mentoring program is launched annually in the winter semester and is aimed at IB Bachelor's students from the 3rd semester and IB Master's students from the 1st semester. If you would like to participate in the mentoring program, you can do so as follows after the start of a new application round:
- You select a maximum of three mentor:s from the anonymized list.
- You write a short text to introduce yourself to your potential mentors. You send this text, including the numbers of your desired mentors, to the following email address: mentoring.zis@mailbox.tu-dresden.de.
- We will match you with a mentor accordingly and forward your request. The mentors will then let us know which students they have decided to supervise or whether you have decided to supervise them.
→ Are you an IB alumna or IB alumnus of ZIS and would like to mentor one or more IB students?
The mentoring relationship is established anonymously via the ZIS. The call for participation in the program takes place annually in the winter semester, but you can of course be added to the mentoring list throughout the year.
- Please fill out the questionnaire and send it to the following e-mail address: .
- We will anonymize your information and include it in the regularly updated list of mentors. This list is password-protected and can be viewed by current IB students.
- If a student applies for your mentoring offer, we will forward the request to you promptly. You then decide whether you would like to take on the mentoring.
Help us to improve the program!
We would like to encourage all mentors and mentees to share suggestions, criticism and positive/negative experiences from the mentoring program with us via the email address . Feedback and feedback help us to keep an overview and constantly improve the program.
