EIB Lecture Series (3/4) on May 8: "The European Investment Bank (EIB)", with Gunter Fischer, Principal Advisor and Senior Knowledge and Impact Expert of the EIB

On 08 May 2025, the Center for International Studies invites you to the second event in the Lecture Series "The European Investment Bank".

Mr. Gunter Fischer, EIB Principal Advisor and Senior Knowledge and Impact Expert, will give a lecture on the EIB Climate Bank Roadmap.

The speaker, Mr. Gunter Fischer, has been with the EIB for 23 years. He currently holds the position of Principal Advisor and Senior Knowledge and Impact Expert of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Initially, Gunter focused on European VC and PE funds at the European Investment Fund (EIF). In 2008, Mr. Fischer moved to EIB to focus on Climate Action investments in emerging markets and developing countries. This included the implementation of GEEREF (a EUR 242m vehicle) and was followed in 2020 by the development and implementation of EMCAF (a EUR 485m vehicle). Mr. Fischer was responsible for sourcing, origination, assessment, negotiation, and monitoring of climate mitigation and adaptation investments. In 2024, he joined the EIB Institute to focus on the development of Knowledge and Impact Investing activities for the EIB Group and partners. He is also chairing Luxembourg’s Impact Investing Advisory Board. He holds a PhD in Finance from the Europauniversität Viadrina and degrees in business and law from Reims Business School and the University of St. Gallen.

Gunter Fischer is the second guest speaker in this lecture series in cooperation with the EIB Institute.
