UABC in Dresden
On December 1st, 2011, Prof. Walter Daesslé and a group of 15
of his students from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California
(Mexico) visited CIPSEM on the occasion of a transatlantic tour
to get to know the various study opportunities of Germany.
Dresden was the second stop, after Freiberg, and later on they
moved to Berlin and Kiel. The young people from Mexico are
students of Environmental Science, Oceanography, Biology and
Biotechnology. After a tour of the University campus, at
CIPSEM, Gabriela Fontenla (CIPSEM alumna from 2009 and TU
Dresden student of “Hydro Science and Engineering”), Sandra
Cordoba (CIPSEM staff member and MSc “Tropical Forestry and
Management”), and Marolyn Vidaurre (Alexander von Humboldt
fellow at the Chair of Tropical Forestry) gave them the
opportunity to discuss international study programmes and
projects at TU Dresden. Later, a nice get-to-gether party had
been organized by the fellows of the ongoing 55th
UNEP/UNESCO/BMU short course on “Waste Management” with some
German drinks, Mexican food cebiche, and lots of dances from
all over the world.
