Welcome at the Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management!
The Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management (CIPSEM) is a facility within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at TUD Dresden University of Technology and is responsible for the implementation of the UNEP/UNESCO/BMUKN International Postgraduate Training Programme in Environmental Management. The programme is designed for environmental professionals and decision-makers from developing and emerging countries, with the objective of strengthening capacities in sustainable environmental governance and resource management.
Each year, CIPSEM offers a six-month postgraduate course covering a broad spectrum of environmental management topics, alongside two to three short-term courses (lasting several weeks) that focus on annually changing thematic priorities aligned with current global environmental challenges.
In addition, CIPSEM is a partner of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and coordinates the annual study tour that forms part of the Foundation’s International Climate Protection Fellowship. This fellowship programme enables young leaders to spend one year at a German research institution, working on an independent research-related project in the field of climate protection and climate-related natural resource management.
On the following pages, you will find detailed information about CIPSEM, the UNEP/UNESCO/BMUKN Training Programme, current and upcoming courses, the application procedures for a course attendance, as well as previous courses and alumni.
