International Climate Protection Fellowship

CIPSEM operates as partner of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, which is granting up to 20 International Climate Protection Fellowships annually. This project is part of the International Climate Initiative (IKI). The German Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) supports the initiative based on a decision of the German Federal Parliament.

Alumni Network

Up to now, more than 2100 participants from 138 countries have graduated successfully from the various courses of our training program. Many of them are still in touch with each other and with CIPSEM. Thereby, the international and often intercontinental collaboration, which started in Dresden, continues.

Welcome at the Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management!

The Centre for International Postgraduate Studies of Environmental Management (CIPSEM) is a facility within the Faculty of Environmental Sciences at TUD Dresden University of Technology and responsible for the implementation of the UNEP/UNESCO/BMUV international Postgraduate Training Program in environmental management for developing countries. Hence, the program’s target group are environmental experts from developing and emerging countries. Every year, a six-month long course on a wide range of topics related to environmental management as well as three several weeks lasting short courses on annually changing topics take place.

Moreover, CIPSEM is also a partner of Alexander von Humboldt Foundation and responsible for the implementation of the annual study tour which is part of the foundation’s International Climate Protection Fellowship. This scholarship allows young leaders to spend a year at a German research institution to work on a research-related project of their choice in the field of climate and climate-related natural resources.
