AlumniUp to now more than 1700 participants from 132 countries of Asia and the Pacific, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean have graduated successfully from the various courses of the UNEP/UNESCO/BMU training programme. Many of them are still active in the alumni forum administered by CIPSEM. Thereby the international and often intercontinental collaboration that was started in Dresden continues. Voices of alumni about the courses and their
effect: "I am now at University of Alberta, doing a PhD course on sanitary landfills. I actually saw the first landfills during the CIPSEM short course on waste management in 2005, thanks for that! My assessment is that the course should be mandatory for people charged with solid waste management, especially in developing countries. I hope it is still being offered." Marclus Mwai from Kenya "That's what I got from the Dresden course – International networking and friendship." Do Vu Khiem from Vietnam "The course helped so much, raised my profile at work and I am now a focal person on Environment and Climate change in my sector." Tom Damulira from Uganda |
