Research Interests
In the course of my studies and internships I developed a solid interest in the neuro-cognitive and behavioral processes underlying addiction and addictive patterns. I view addiction as a complex construct anchored in a person’s neuro-functional, behavioral and cognitive profile which is changing over time. These changes can be due to internal and external influences or an individual’s life-experiences. More specifically, our research focuses on underlying cognitive and behavioral (learning) mechanisms in individuals with and without alcohol use disorder.
Additionally, I focus on investigating the relationship between cannabis use and possible adverse mental health outcomes.
