Outline
This seminar series and personal tutorial will address topics that are most relevant to women in science and their career development. Topics to be covered include (but will not be limited to) the following:
- Balancing family and career responsibilities overall; time management and work-life balance
- Whether to discuss maternity and family responsibilities when presenting materials for career review
- Management of perceived discrimination from other colleagues, especially those that may have an influence upon career development (such as grant reviewers)
- Strategies for networking and being considered for awards
- Taking leadership roles in science (e.g., becoming principal investigator) and administration
- Opportunities and risks as women in science
In addition to these more general topics, Dr. Craske will give individual feedback regarding own research projects and career considerations.
