Scholarship holders Richard Hartl and Björn Verse present at annual Pegasus conference (11./12.10.2019)
"What does the traffic transformation actually mean?"
Richard Hartl and Björn Verse asked this question during a workshop at the annual conference of the Pegasus Network, the Germany-wide interdisciplinary network for young people in mobility and traffic research. In their workshop, the two scholarship holders presented various perspectives of different actors involved in the turnaround in traffic, which could ultimately be understood as a comprehensive, socio-technical transformation concept.
On the one hand, the need for a turnaround in traffic is increasingly underlined in the mass media, as well as the public and political discourse. On the other hand, it can be seen that there is currently no consensus on the goals and measures of a turnaround in transport between the social actors. Finally, using the multiple stream approach, Richard Hartl and Björn Verse discussed how a change in transport policy in Germany could be possible.
The annual conference took place on October 11-12, 2019, in the Saxon State and University Library (SLUB) in Dresden and offered the opportunity to get to know the projects and approaches of other young scientists and to establish contacts with them.
The two scholarship holders also used the workshop to reflect on previous research results and to discuss subsequent questions. In addition, they presented their respective doctoral projects on 'Sustainability Assessment of Business Model Innovations in the Transport Sector' and 'Scenarios for the Transformation of Urban Mobility'.
