Workshop for Doctoral students at Gut Gödelitz (Meißen, 3/4 July 2014)
The third internal workshop of the Research Training Group took place again at Gut Gödelitz (administrative district Meißen). For one and a half days the former estate (today the seat of Ost-West-Forum e.V.) provided the perfect surroundings for intensive discussions about the individual projects and for promoting team spirit within the group. The workshop was held in a new didactical form: after each presentation a board member, who was not a supervisor of the student, assumed a respondent role and moderated the following discussion while another doctoral student took notes in order that the contributor stay focused during the discussions. In addition to delivering a presentation on project content, Doctoral students had to report their observance of time schedules and possible deviations. Board member Dominik Möst presented results about the development of grid charges within a commissioned research project by the State Chancellery of Saxony. During the workshop, a short internal board meeting took place, where the strategy concerning potential plans for continuation following this term were discussed. All agreed that the homemade paella provided by Antonio Hurtado which participants enjoyed in the summer countryside was a special highlight of the evening.
