Inaugural event at our new premises
After the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group moved to the Falkenbrunnen office building in June, the rooms were officially dedicated with the Board of Directors on September 2nd, 2020. After a short tour of the new offices, which bear the names of the locations of the Boysen GmbH company, a lively reporting on accomplished milestones and other project phases took place over lunch. The highlight of the event was a visit to the roof terrace with a view of the city. The TU Dresden campus can be seen in the background of the group photo.
Various paintings from the collections of the TU Dresden were selected for the furnishing of the new premises. With access to such a large and unique collection of exhibits from scientific teaching, research, and art, we were able to select various works which would find new homes in our offices. For example, three approximately 100-year-old prints by the artist Georg Nerlich reveal a train which is partly depicted on a seemingly chaotic railway. They are reminiscent of past transformations of transport and thus tie in with the topic of the Training Group, i.e. “Mobility in Transition”.
Georg Nerlich came from Silesia and worked from 1948 to 1957 as a professor for painting and graphics at the Technischen Hochschule Dresden.
