Bright minds drive future innovations: New doctoral students in the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group
Jannik Amon
Jannik Amon completed his state examination for Teacher Training - Secondary Schools at TU Dresden. His research focuses on the hydrogen economy and education for sustainable development.
Jannik is part of Cluster G: "Electrocatalysts for a competitive hydrogen economy". His research focuses on the sub-project G3: "Ensuring education for sustainable development and understanding of the processual nature of scientific and technical research through research-oriented teaching-learning concepts and science communication". This project will also serve as a reference for the development of prototypical, research-oriented teaching modules. The work is being supervised by Prof. Dr. Manuela Niethammer from the Chair of Building, Wood and Color Technology as well as Interior Design and Vocational Didactics.
Jannik Amon expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude for being accepted into the Research Training Group:
"I am delighted about the warm welcome from all the doctoral students and I am very happy to be part of this great team. I hope I can fulfill the expectations of this special project, which aims to bring the importance of the topic and all the projects of the Boysen-TU Dresden-Research Training Group to a wider audience."
Siarhei Bartalevich
Doctoral student Siarhei Bartalevich also brings a wealth of experience and a solid academic background to our team. His academic career includes a Bachelor of Science in Merchandising Technique and Expertise in Food Products from the Belarusian State Economic University (BSEU), Belarus. He then completed his Master's degree in Regional and Environmental Economics at the University of Kaposvar, Hungary. He also completed a second Master's degree in Data Analysis in Spatial and Environmental Economics at the University of Bourgogne, France. In addition to his academic achievements, Siarhei has gained extensive professional experience as an economist at Premiertorg, Belarus, and as a data analyst at Capolavori, Belarus.
With his research project E3, "Extended cost-benefit analysis for hydrogen production in MENA countries", the second new doctoral student is part of Cluster E: "Hydrogen imports from the MENA region compared to hydrogen production in Germany" and is supervised by Prof. Dr. Georg Hirte at the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences.
Siarhei's experience so far has been very positive, as he finds his colleagues extremely helpful and the atmosphere very welcoming. His main expectations include building a lasting network with professors and colleagues, collaborating on quantifying the qualitative indicators of hydrogen energy potential, improving his data analysis skills and learning how to work under uncertain conditions, e.g. dealing with missing or erroneous data.
We warmly welcome our new doctoral students Siarhei and Jannik to the Boysen-TU Dresden-Reserach Training Group. We are looking forward to their contributions to our research community and are confident that they will advance their respective projects. We wish them every success and look forward to the innovative solutions and insights they will bring to the fields of hydrogen economy and sustainable development.
