New Master's Degree Program at DIU - Hydrogen Technology and Economics: Interview with Prof. Hurtado
Germany, and Saxony in particular, want to take a leading role in the use of innovative climate-friendly hydrogen energy. To make this a reality, research and development work is indispensable. Since the beginning of 2021, Dresden International University (DIU), one of the largest private universities in Germany, has provided the new master’s degree program in Hydrogen Technology and Economics, which will make a significant contribution in shaping the technology of the future by training practice-oriented experts.
The scientific directors of the course are Prof. Hans Müller-Steinhagen, former rector of TU Dresden and president of DIU since fall 2020, and Prof. Antonio Hurtado, holder of the Chair for Hydrogen and Nuclear Energy at TU Dresden and spokesman for the Boysen-TUD Research Training Group. In an interview with the Sächsische Zeitung, Prof. Hurtado clarifies the special features of the new degree program, emphasizes the importance of a sustainable hydrogen industry both for the region and nation, and explains the reason why hydrogen as a secondary energy carrier is becoming increasingly important in terms of climate protection and sustainability efforts worldwide.
