Second dissertation of the 3rd RTG successfully defended
On 10.11.2023, Stefan Heidinger, now the second doctoral student from the 3rd Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group, defended his dissertation entitled "Heat and Mass Transfer to Particles in Pulsating Flows" with a Magna cum Laude and thus obtained the title Dr.-Ing. After his successful defense, he had the honor of being the first to wear the new sash of the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group. The names of all successful graduates are immortalized on it.

Well done! Dr. Stefan Heidinger with gown and sash of the Boysen-TUD Research Training Group
His project A2 "Theoretical and experimental investigation of process boundary conditions in pulsating flows for the production of novel oxidation catalysts" was supervised by Prof. Michael Beckmann, Chair of Energy Process Engineering at the Institute of Process Engineering and Environmental Technology at TU Dresden. During his time at the Boysen-TU Dresden Research Training Group from 2019 to 2023, Mr. Heidinger worked together with other students from the former Cluster A on the investigation of a pulsation reactor. The focus of his research was on characterizing the flow processes around particles introduced into the reactor. Through his work, he was able to make a significant contribution to a deeper understanding of the processes taking place, in particular heat and mass transfer.
