Friedrich und Elisabeth Boysen Foundation
The Friedrich and Elisabeth Boysen Foundation is a non-profit foundation which promotes science and research in the field of environmental technology with a special focus on engineering solutions for the reduction of pollutants, noise, and energy consumption. The funding is based on a 1996 agreement with the Regional Council of Stuttgart.
The foundation was founded by Mrs. Elisabeth Boysen and endowed with a generous trust, including shares of the Friedrich Boysen GmbH & Co. KG group. Its main focus is on vehical emission controls and soundproofing of vehicle drives with internal combustion engines. As a partner of well-known car manufacturers, Boysen develops and manufactures manifolds, catalytic converters, diesel particulate filters, mufflers, and complete exhaust systems.
The foundation’s board of directors includes Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefanos Fasoulas (chairman), Wilhelm Becker (vice chairman), and Dr. Andreas Dreizler. The board is further supported by the members of the board of trustees: Prof. Dr.-Ing. Antonio Hurtado (TUD), Mrs. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bettina Frohnapfel (KIT) and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Hans-Christian Reuss (Universität Stuttgart). .
