(Only possible on the activation PC in the PC pool or from the campus LAN or when using OpenVPN)

To gain access to the CAD pool, an RFID card (Campus Card) must be registered;
the key cards can also be purchased for 5,00 € at the CPS, room B409.
Security
The CAD pool is under video surveillance for security reasons.
Please observe the pool regulations.
- Operating system: Windows 11 Education, standard Windows programs
- CAD system: MicroStation, ArchiCAD, 3Ds Max, SketchUp (free version), AutoCAD, Vectorworks
- Image processing: Adobe DC (NUL version and on PC A11-234 as SDL version), Gimp, Blender
- Office: MS Office 2024, LibreOffice
- Web browser: Firefox, Opera
- Building climatology programs
- 3D visualization/animation: Lumion, LumenRT, ContextCapture, VSDC, Twinmotion
- Access to ZIH virtual machines via Omnissa Horizon Client
Personal data backup
The backup of personal data or data exchange is possible via CD or USB stick.
A CD/DVD writer is built into each computer. Note: The use is only allowed for academic purposes.
Violations may lead to exclusion from the use of the pool.
Activation of the personal USB memory stick may only occur after the computer has been restarted.
Only data on the personal drive is safe!!! Data on \\Acadfs1\Markt are possible only for temporary work (up to 30 days). After that the data will be deleted automatically
Installation of third-party software is strictly forbidden. This also applies to fonts -> in case of external processing use only standard fonts or embed them in document (if possible in PDF).
Manipulation of installed software is prohibited. This also applies to the configuration of hardware.
Data rate
The profiles are computer-bound and are not synchronized with the server.
Do not put any data on the Windows desktop, because this data is also stored in the profile. Only store data on the personal drive [X:\ or Y:\...].
Very memory-consuming data media are pictures. Our recommendations:
Save color photos (without text) at 150 dpi in JPEG (JPG) format at image quality 5. Do not use TIFF or BMP format (10 - 20 x larger).
Save B/W drawings as TIFF file, adjust resolution to printer performance.
Kooperation
Since 1994, the Faculty of Architecture has been training students in the architecture program with CAD software products from Bentley-Systems like MicroStation, OpenBuilding Designer (OBD), LumenRT and ContextCapture in the fields of computer-aided design, visualization and animation. In addition to classical teaching, the collaboration has also resulted in a number of seminar and scientific papers.
