Overview of Degree Programs

You’ll learn how to develop sustainable and aesthetically appealing designs and plans for the future shaping of open spaces—such as city squares, parks, or even private gardens—as well as entire landscapes—and how to refine these concepts until they are ready for implementation: you’ll learn all this when you study at the Institute of Landscape Architecture at TU Dresden. But that’s not all: We’ll familiarize you with plants and their potential uses, as well as with construction techniques and materials. We’ll teach you the fundamentals of ecology and the history of gardening, and introduce you to current issues such as climate change, the energy transition, and cooperative community development.

Graduates of the landscape architecture program at TU Dresden are expected to be able to develop innovative solutions—in a wide variety of professional roles—for the increasingly complex and international challenges facing our landscapes, green spaces, and open areas. The landscape architecture program therefore emphasizes practice- and research-oriented project-based learning.

Landscape Architecture in Dresden—a must!

• a clearly structured curriculum with no overlapping courses (including internships integrated into the standard period of study), which allows for shorter study times

• the opportunity to collaborate on projects and designs with architecture students
