Züblin Steel Construction Prize 2024

We congratulate Lea Müller and Carolin Schleicher on winning first prize in the Züblin Steel Construction Award 2024!

The project work was carried out as part of the Structural Design course at the Faculty of Architecture in cooperation with the Chair of Structural Design and Construction I. It was supervised by Christiane Doberenz from the Chair of Structural Design and Felix Haunstein from the Chair of Architectural Design and Construction I.

The work is an outstanding example of the symbiosis of architectural design and structural design. The design impresses with its radical approach, in which the spatial program is cleverly stacked and very exciting spatial situations are created through the ingenious arrangement of the individual functions.

The design illustrates the great creative potential of steel supporting structures for the design of sports buildings. The designers have dealt intensively with the load flow, the structural design as well as a sustainable and recyclable type of construction and have developed the concept to a very high aesthetic level.
