Energy Policy and Building Regulations in Sweden, Denmark and Norway: A Comparsion of Requirements for Buildings, Renewable Energy Use and Energy Consumption Certificates
This thesis was dedicated to a comprehensive analysis and comparison of energy policies and building regulations in Sweden, Denmark and Norway. Given the increasing relevance of European energy and climate targets, it is crucial to understand and evaluate the individual approaches and regulations of these Scandinavian countries, especially against the background of their climatic and cultural context. This study is not only important for a better understanding of the specific energy scenarios of these countries, but also to derive possible implications for German regulations on the energy demand of buildings.
The work focuses on key issues relating to the specific requirements for building energy demand, particularly with regard to heating energy and the use of renewable energies. Both the energy supply structure and the geographical and meteorological characteristics of the respective countries are taken into account. It also examines how energy-saving construction and the use of renewable energies are promoted and regulated by laws and regulations in these countries.
The thesis paints a detailed picture of the energy policy and building law landscape in the countries studied. The results show differences and similarities in the countries' approaches and evaluate their effectiveness in the context of European targets. This provided valuable insights for the further development of energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies in the building sector. Additional questions, such as the type of verification and the meaningfulness of various limit values, were also considered.
