Project description
With regard to the goals of the German government to achieve an energy-neutral building stock by 2050, the energy-efficient refurbishment of façades is of central importance. In addition to reducing primary energy demand, the sustainable and responsible use of resources also plays a key role.
The aim of the proposed research project is to develop an energy-neutral façade system for the refurbishment of existing façades. The system consists of a façade module for external wall temperature control with integrated photovoltaics and a heating coating for CO2-free heat generation. A mounting system ensures the heat transfer and enables serial and simple attachment to the existing construction.
Through external wall temperature regulation, the heat flow in the building component is actively controlled and heat losses through the façade are minimized. The system helps to reduce the heating energy requirement and thus actively contributes to lowering the primary energy demand of a building and to reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the building sector. Thanks to its resource-saving design, the use of recyclable building materials and the separability of the components, it reflects the core idea of modern, environmentally conscious construction.
