Equipment and Services
The Friedrich-Siemens-Laboratory is divided into three main areas:
- Adhesive Bonding Laboratory
- Test Hall
- Mechnical Workshop

The adhesive bonding laboratory is specialised in proccessing and analysing of adhesive systems in general and in particular of joining of glass constructions. Both substrate and substance test samples of adhesives and adhesive systems can be produced in laboratory scale and further investigated with regard to their properties.
The analyses focus on the following areas:
- Mechanical properties
- Adhesion assets
- Surfaces pretreatment
- Visual properties
- Curing process
- Aging restistance

Material compatibility
The testing hall mainly provides equipment for material testing concerning fields of application in glas in construction, windows and facade systems.
The focus here is on the test procedure of:
- Experimental verifications of glass constructions according to DIN 18008
- Construction product specific tests for glass in building
- Testing of windows, external doors and curtain walls
- Special glass constructions
For building and adjustment of test facility the Friedrich-Siemens-Laboratory runs an own
mechanical workshop. Workshop services are offered in concern of test orders of the laboratory. Furthermore we carry out internal manufacturing services within the Technische Universität Dresden.
