2nd German-Korean Workshop on Computational Mechanics
From August 25 to 27, 2025, the "2nd German-Korean Workshop on Computational Mechanics" took place at our faculty's Institute for Statics and Dynamics of Structures. Initiated and supported by the two partner organizations, the German Association for Computational Mechanics (GACM) and the Korean Society for Computational Mechanics (KSCM), the workshop was the second of its kind and featured 28 invited guests and speakers.
The goal and purpose of the bilateral meeting is to efficiently intensify the scientific and friendly relations between all participants. This was pursued through an intensive exchange of ideas on a wide variety of collaborations during 21 specialist presentations, a poster session, and numerous discussions on the scientific program. The presentations ranged from topology optimization, modeling of fracture mechanics phenomena, machine learning, the material point method, and simulation of fluid-structure interactions to physically-based neural networks.
All participants used the workshop as an opportunity to generate and initiate productive and valuable synergies between their institutions.
