Arena - gut überDACHt: Kick-off of the accompanying offer for Junior.ING competition

For the first time this year, TU Dresden is supporting students in their participation in the Junior.ING competition organized by the Saxony Chamber of Engineers.

Under the motto "Arena - gut überDACHt", this year's competition is looking for innovative models of a stadium roof.

In order to support creative minds in finding concepts and implementing their ideas, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering are offering an accompanying program, which was opened with a kick-off on 28.10.2025.

Prof. Beckmann, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, welcomed the students from various schools in Dresden and the surrounding area. Oliver Wege (Faculty of Civil Engineering) and Dr. Martin Kern (Faculty of Mechanical Science and Engineering) got the participants in the mood for the competition with an inspiring presentation on the construction of stadium roofs and creativity techniques from the engineering toolbox. Annett Dörfel from the Saxony Chamber of Engineers was available to answer questions about the competition.

The TU Dresden's accompanying offer includes two workshop dates, where ideas can be sharpened, feedback can be obtained and the model can also be tinkered with together.

06.11.2025, 3-6 p.m.: Concept workshop
12.01.2026, 3-6 p.m.: Feedback and construction workshop

Pupils from year 9 onwards who are interested in taking part in the workshop dates are welcome to register at junior.ing@tu-dresden.de.
