The Beyer Building Through the Ages—A New Permanent Exhibition on the Ground Floor

One might think that SMAR 2026 (International Conference on Smart Monitoring, Assessment, and Rehabilitation of Civil Structures) was the occasion for opening a new permanent exhibition in the Beyer Building. In fact, almost simultaneously with the international conference, 15 new display panels have been on view this week in the hallways on the building’s entrance level. For international guests, the Beyer Building thus offers not only exciting insights into current research but also a look back in time: The new permanent exhibition traces the history of this historic building and highlights various aspects of the Beyer Building.

More than 500 participants from around the world have come to Dresden for this year’s SMAR—International Conference on Smart Monitoring, Assessment, and Rehabilitation of Civil Structures. The conference is currently taking place on the campus of TU Dresden and primarily in the Beyer Building. Here, scientists, engineers, and experts are gathering to discuss current developments in the monitoring, assessment, and rehabilitation of structures.
