Franco-German symposium for young scientists
On October 17 and 18, the 1st DFH Symposium for young scientists entitled "Perspectives on sustainability in civil engineering" took place at TU Dresden. The event is sponsored by the Franco-German University and the format is intended to promote networking and the intensification of Franco-German scientific dialog. The Dresden meeting will mark the start of this new format, with events in Paris and Strasbourg to follow in November.

The participants were welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering at TU Dresden, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Stamm, and by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Peer Haller, long-standing coordinator of the DFH at TU Dresden and organizer of the meeting. Franziska Teckentrup from the TU Dresden's International Office gave welcoming remarks. The participating scientists exchanged information about their research on sustainable construction both in short presentations and with various laboratory visits on the second day of the meeting.
