Ph.D. Student Seminar with TU Darmstadt

The Institute of Building Construction at TU Dresden, in collaboration with the Institute for Structural Analysis and Design at TU Darmstadt, organized a doctoral seminar. The event focused on current research findings, technical discussions, and the exchange of ideas among doctoral students from both institutions.

The presented research covered various topics in structural engineering: ranging from the analysis of crack systems and the edge strength of glass to the long-term behavior of structural silicones under load and the life cycle assessment of building-integrated photovoltaics. Presentations and workshops provided an opportunity to discuss methods and results and to learn about new research approaches.

In addition to the technical exchange, the seminar strengthened networking among the doctoral candidates and fostered dialogue between the two Institutes. Special thanks went to the supervising researchers, Prof. Dr. Michael Engelmann and Matthias Seel, for their support.

The next joint doctoral seminar will take place in 2027 at TU Darmstadt.
