Faculty of Civil Engineering with 4 winners among the 2022 teaching awards
During the Senate meeting in December, Prof. Michael Kobel, Prorector Education, and Prof. Angela Rösen-Wolff, Prorector Research, presented this year's GFF teaching awards. This time, the competition was looking for teaching and learning concepts that are particularly dedicated to the topics of ecological sustainability or entrepreneurship. For the first time, all university members were invited to submit proposals. From these, the GFF Board of Directors, together with the Prorector for Education, selected the following winners for the teaching award, each of which is endowed with 5,000 euros.
In the academic year 2021/2022, students were able to apply for the first time for the teaching award of the Society of Friends and Sponsors of the TU Dresden (GFF e.V.). Our students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering were among the winners with no less than three student initiatives:
- "RepetiTutorial Technical Mechanics - Elastostatics or Kinetics", initiated by Johannes Reimer and Selina Zschocke.
- Student group Sustainability-AG Civil Engineering for the initiative for the course "Sustainable building structures, alternative insulation materials and their life cycle assessment".
- "Basic lecture on ecological sustainability", initiated and organized by students.
In addition, another award went to our faculty:
- Prof. Steffen Marx, Peter Betz and Conrad Pelka for the lecture and the offered seminar "Reinforcement of solid structures".
The GFF has been awarding prizes for outstanding achievements in the field of education and training since 1995.
