Glass construction 2025: Innovation meets practice - A look into the future of building with glass
Glasbau 2025 once again provided an inspiring forum for experts from research, architecture, engineering and industry. Anyone interested in the latest scientific findings in glass construction and wanting to know how these are directly applied in practice got their money's worth here.
From theory to practice: interactive formats and in-depth insights
This year's event once again focused on practical, interactive formats that not only imparted knowledge to participants, but also invited them to try things out. Innovative technologies could be experienced first-hand in workshops, and leading experts took part in the numerous discussion rounds to provide valuable impetus for future projects.
Historic façades and modern technologies - a field of tension
One of the most impressive presentations was a keynote speech on the use of float glass in the renovation of historic façades. The responsible handling of different types of flat glass that have developed over the eras is not a matter of course. Prof. Paul Bellendorf from the University of Bamberg tried to raise awareness of this topic with his lecture "Timeless and fascinating: the role of historical glass in the preservation of monuments".
Experience industry innovation up close
In addition to interesting lectures and room for discussion, the accompanying exhibition also offered the opportunity to get to know innovations in the industry from various companies, who presented their latest developments - from smart glazing to sustainable material concepts in a small trade fair.
Glasbau 2025 proved once again that glass is not just a building material, but an element of the future that combines technology, design and sustainability. We are excited to see what developments await us before the next Glasbau!
