Outstanding teaching: Faculty of Transport Sciences awards teaching prize to Dr Torsten Heyer from the Institute of Hydraulic Engineering
Dr Torsten Heyer received the "Friedrich List" Faculty of Transport Sciences teaching prize for his lecture on "Water transport systems". In their citation for the award, presented by the spokesperson of the Faculty Council of Transport Scientists, Hosea Winter, the students praised Dr Heyer for his "good mixture of interesting facts, sober calculations, which he always explained logically and comprehensibly, and entertainment".
The prize in the "Advanced Teaching" category was awarded to Dr Rico Wittwer, research assistant at the Chair of Mobility System Planning at the Faculty of Transport Sciences and head of the Mobility Behaviour research field, for his lecture "Data Collection and Analysis in Transport Planning".
The teaching prize of the Faculty of Transport and Traffic Sciences is awarded annually in the categories "Basic Teaching" and "Advanced Teaching".
Both award winners were visibly delighted with the prize and the recognition it brings and thanked the students and the faculty for this honour. To the delight of the Student Representative Council (FSR), Dr Heyer announced that he would donate his prize money to the FSR for its work.
