A Faculty with Tradition
The Faculty of Civil Engineering is one of the most traditional faculties of TU Dresden and its predecessors. Excellent research was already a matter of course here, when the term did not yet exist – names such as Johann Andreas Schubert (1808-1870), Claus Koepcke (1831-1911), Otto Mohr (1835-1918) or Kurt Beyer (1881-1952) enjoy an excellent reputation in the professional world.
Today, the Faculty of Civil Engineering has eleven institutes with 19 chairs (overview) and a total of more than 150 employees. With about 1,800 students, the faculty is one of the smaller ones at the Technical University of Dresden – but there is also an excellent ratio of teachers and learners.
