The IGT at Geo^5+

Impressions of Geo^5+
The Geo^5+ doctoral workshop took place at TU Berlin on June 23 and 24. Doctoral students from TU Dresden, KIT (Karlsruhe), RU Bochum, OTH Regensburg, HTWK Leipzig and Bauhaus University Weimar were guests in Berlin. The program included lectures on various topics of geotechnics, mostly the doctoral topics of the lecturers doctoral students. The presentations were followed by a short discussion with the other participants. The comments from the professors in particular were seen as very instructive for the doctoral students.
The IGT was represented with two lectures on the topics
- S. Ullmann: "A Large-Scale Benchmark Test for the Investigation of Cyclically Loaded Soils under Road Pavements"
- Z. M. Karslioglu: "Build-Up of Pore Water Pressure under Cyclic Loading in Soils with Different Classifications and Grain Properties"
represented.
Traditionally, a "sporting showdown" took place on the first evening, this year in the discipline of cornhole. The team from TU Berlin won, meaning that the challenge cup went to the hosts in Berlin this year.
