Institute of Geotechnical Engineering at 8ICEGE in Osaka, Japan

The '8th International Conference on Earthquake Geotechnical Engineering' took place in Osaka, Japan from May 7th to 10th. This is one of the largest conferences dealing with topics such as soil behavior during an earthquake and accompanying soil liquefaction. Special attention was paid to the 30th anniversary of the Kobe earthquake and the 60th anniversary of the Niigata earthquake as well as the February 6th, 2023 Türkiye earthquakes.

Our institute was represented by our colleague Bozana Bacic at 8ICEGE, who presented the newly developed experimental setup for assessing the liquefaction tendency of coarse-grained soils, PWP tester. More about this project can be found here
