Abstract:
In this work, the effects of the higher-level Mantelverordnung (MantelV) on the material recycling of construction waste are examined. As a result of the work, evidence was provided for material flow shifts of mineral construction waste due to the imminent introduction of the Substitute Construction Materials Ordinance. For this purpose, it was determined which materials in which volumes would have to be landfilled and which materials could probably be recycled. Within the framework of this investigation, representative scenarios were developed on the basis of studies, forecasts by leading experts and the consideration of various influencing factors. In the context of this consideration, the landfilling of high-value secondary raw materials with effects on landfill space and the increasing use of high-value primary raw materials was also the focus of the study. In addition, the study provides an overview of the current status of the ordinance. With the work, the essential changes due to the introduction of the MantelV and the resulting requirements for the demolition and recycling industry and the implementation at the demolition sites, processing plants and manufacturing sites have been worked out.
