Abstract:
This paper examines and evaluates the potential for using artificial intelligence in the construction planning process based on identified applications. It begins with a systematic overview of artificial intelligence concepts and a definition of the planning process under consideration. Building on this, the status quo of AI use in construction was determined by evaluating current studies and relevant literature. In addition, the relevant framework conditions for the use of AI in the planning process were identified. The study focuses on comprehensive research, systematic recording and evaluation of existing applications, and the identification of foreseeable fields of application for AI in the service phases of construction planning. The analysis covers areas such as site analysis, feasibility studies, variant development, scheduling, regulatory compliance, quantity determination and contract review. The evaluation and interpretation of the results from 98 applications clearly shows that the use of AI has considerable potential.
